Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) are the most common cloud computing systems. When comparing offerings from each of these platforms, it is important to remember your company’s size and priorities, your expected rate of growth and your budget.
Not all enterprise cloud systems are similar, however. They offer various features, and some are more consistent with different business models and sizes of companies.
Amazon Web Services (AWS)
Amazon Web Services is a division of amazon.com which provides a pay-subscription-based on-demand cloud computing platform to individuals, businesses, and governments.
Amazon Web Services is the cloud market’s oldest and most experienced player. It has built a larger user base as one of the oldest cloud providers, as well as bigger confidence and reliability factors.

Microsoft Azure initially named Azure, aims to provide enterprises with a professional Cloud Computing platform. In 2014, Azure was renamed ‘Microsoft Azure’ although the term ‘Azure’ is still widely used. Microsoft Azure has shown great success amongst its competitors since its inception.

In less than a decade it has managed to establish a strong presence in the cloud industry. Google Cloud’s initial goal was to improve Google’s products such as the Google Search Engine and YouTube. But now, they’ve also launched their corporate services that allow others to use the Google Cloud Platform that uses the same infrastructure as Google Search or YouTube.
