The difference between SQL and MySQL

SQL and MySQL are the most frequently tossed jargon in database management. The words SQL and MySQL are two terms that are commonly confused. Other than sounding the same way they are both associated with the database management system concept. These two have separate functions altogether, though. We have to study their real definition to clear up the whole SQL vs. MySQL debates.
What is SQL?
SQL stands for Standard Query Language and is used in various database operations. Developers turn to this when writing scripts for data integration whereas data analysts use it to set up and run analytical queries. SQL is also used, aside from MySQL, for other RDBMS such as Oracle, Sybase, Microsoft SQL Server, Access, Ingres, etc.
You can instruct the server to perform key data operations like:
- Query: request specific information from the existing database.
- Manipulation: add, delete, change, sort, and other actions to modify the data, the values, or the visuals.
- Identification: define data types.
- Access management: provide security for data, you can limit who can access information stored in the database
What is MySQL?
As stated earlier, MySQL is a type of RDBMS. It is an open-source system having a model client-server. Because of its flexible and easy-to-use source code, it is among the most popular RDBMS.
A lot of tech giants such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Google use MySQL to store data. While initially intended for limited use, MySQL gradually became compatible with computing platforms such as Linux, Ubuntu, macOS, and Windows Microsoft.
