What is the Visual Basic programming language?

Visual Basic (VB) is Microsoft’s event-driven programming language and environment that provides a graphical user interface (GUI) that allows programmers to change code by simply dragging and dropping objects and defining their actions and look. Visual Basic is derived from the BASIC programming language and is known to be oriented towards events and objects.
Visual Basic is intended to be easy to understand and simple to write code with; as a result, it is often called a Rapid Application Development (RAD) framework and is used to test an application that will later be written in a language that is more complicated but more successful.
Visual Basic 6 is the last version of Visual Basic, although it has been replaced by VB.NET, Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) and Visual Studio. NET. VBA and Visual Studio are the two most widely used frameworks today.
How Visual Basic is used
VB’s configuration is designed to allow programmers to write executable files using the environment. VB developers are also able to build applications that can be used as a front end to databases. VB tools can assist programmers in designing applications or completing the software, while also allowing them to change and revise their work.
The Visual Basic form most common in use today is VBA. VBA is a Visual Basic version which can be used to program Microsoft Office software, such as Excel and PowerPoint. It can only be used to change existing applications, however; VBA can’t be used to build new ones.
Businesses and companies may use VBA to configure Excel for their particular purposes, for example by taking any data or details from a table. Businesses and organizations can also use VBA externally, or in non-Microsoft applications, by implementing a technology called a component object model (COM) interface that enables commands to communicate across device boundaries. This makes the use of VBA on an application unique to an enterprise.
